The "American Pie" crew grows in American Wedding as two new girls join the cast. January Jones plays Cadence, Michelle (Alyson Hannigan)'s sister who becomes the object of Stifler's affection. Coming into the cast, Jones felt right at home."They were great to me and they're very supportive and helped me out, like brothers," Jones said. "Alyson was awesome to work with and gave me everything I need."
Jones herself is a fan of gross-out humor. "I loved it. I mean, I'm not squeamish, so I thought that they were really funny and not unnecessary at all."
Working with Seann William Scott in his Stifler scenes, she said she'd prefer Stifler to just be himself. "I like Seann. But the bad Stifler. I mean, that's who I end up with in the end. Things just come out of his mouth but I think he's honest and kind of amusing."
Nikki Ziering plays one of the bachelor party strippers, Officer Krystal. While she did not do any research for playing a cop, she did enjoy her uniform. "It took a long time to lace up those boots but I had two wardrobe stylists helping me," Ziering said. "Cute costume."
Ziering did not mind appearing topless in the movie. "I have no problem with it because it made sense for the part and for the character. It was just sort of that over the top character and was not a problem."
Returning from the first two films is Molly Cheek as Jim's Mom. Cheek explained how Mrs. Levinstein takes all the crazy situations so well. "A lot of it I don't know though," Cheek said. "I never see a lot of that stuff. I don't see him sticking to a lamp or sticking things into a pie. I just bake the pie."
Cheek is hoping the series continues with the further adventures of Jim and Michelle's new family. "Eugene [Levy] and Fred [Willard] have a great idea that we should do American Christmas where we all get together, Hannukah, Christmas and there will be a lot of controversy between which we're going to celebrate."
American Wedding opens Friday, August 1.
